Here is just a bit about us. We started up in late 2005, studying freestyle martial arts, which means we study in more than 2 different martial arts but the main two we study are Karate and Kickboxing, these martial arts techniques are explained further below.

We also study other techniques including:-

- Floor Moves

- Pressure points

- Hand, Arm and Wrist locks

- Weapons

and self defence too.

  Karate at WKKA

"Karate" translated means "Empty Hand". Consisting of mainly strikes and kicks used in strong defensive and offensive situations. Most Karate systems consist of 70% hand techniques and 30% kicking techniques.

This style also emphasizes strenuous workout to strengthen the body, due to the fact that the body should be able to with stand a strike or kick.

Karate also places importance on stances creating a strong foundation for techniques and self-defence moves.

In the late 19th century Karate was introduced to Japan but it was not taught to the public until 1923 when the first Karate Dojo "Shotokan" was established by Master Funikoshi.
